PLANET EARTH

Plastic Pollution

Every year more than 8 million tons of plastic waste enters into the oceans. That is the equivalent of one truck full of plastic that dumps the garbage into the sea each minute. Plastics often contain additives making them stronger and more flexible. But these additives can extend the life of the products if they become litter, with some of them ranging to over 400 years to break down.

SEA CREATURES

Marine animals in danger

The Hawksbill Turtle population has decreased among the 80% in the last 50-years. Much of this decline has been caused by ocean pollution and poison fishing which contribute to the degradation of coral-reefs, a basic element for the survival of this amazing criatures.

FOR THE FUTURE

The climate crisis

Humans are responsible for the emission of greenhouse gases to our atmosphere. The climate crisis is a fact and the global temperature has been rising at an exponential rate during the last years. This contributes to the massive destruction of animal habitats, the increase in natural disasters and the melting of the ice shelfs, basic for life in our planet.

FORMS OF LIFE

Degradation of coral reefs

Coral reefs are home to around 25% of the ocean's fish and other organisms, which is why their health is key to a robust and self-sufficient marine ecosystem. However, marine studies have shown up that upon the last decade there has been a 80% decline of coral reefs around the world thanks to climate change and certain destructive human practices.
